I won’t ask for a show of hands because I’m pretty sure I know what the answer to this questions is:
If you could move to Orlando, would you?
For many years I have tried to find a way to do it but the US visa system is so complicated and difficult to fathom it almost seems an impossible task. But, you hear about so many Brits that live there, there is always a glimmer of hope.
Imagine being able to visit the Magic Kingdom on your day off work, or taking the kids to Epcot on a school night because there is a really cool band playing at the Food and Wine Festival. Imagine being able to go to Le Cellier for your wedding anniversary without the expense of a whole holiday.
In the back of my mind I always wonder if living so close could be a bad thing. Would you get bored of going after a while? Would you be sick of the sight of Disney? I don’t think I would.
It doen’t matter how many time I visit Walt Disney World or Disneyland Paris, I get that same feeling everytime I see the castle. Living so close would give me the chance to see the park in a different way. Whenever I go out to Orlando, there is never the chance to really take in everything I see in the parks.
I would love to be able to wake up one Saturday morning and decided I was going to spend the day in the Magic Kingdom, wander around and not go on a single ride without worrying about wasting a day of my vacation. I would be able to experience every Disney festival and know that if a queue was too long that day I could always come back another and not worry.
So, would, for me personally, moving closer to the magic ruin it? No way! It would only help me appreciate more what an amazing place it is. For now, I will continue to dream and one day I may make it out to the Sunshine State.
Until then, anyone got a spare room for a few weeks?
Your thought?

Craig on 15 March 2010I often wonder the same when sitting over there and whilst I do work for a while when I am over its different for the kids and the current Mrs D to being on hols and being in situ. But at the end of the day it can be done, its hard work but as WED said "If you can ream it you can do it" and there are business for sale all the time. JUST BE CAREFUL!! For me,I would be it tomorrow but I am not the one that needs convincing......

I agree - I could never get fed up with Disney - as you say, it just gives you chance to see things in a different way, and you could experience every single festival / celebration without choosing which one sounds the best, or which one is cheapest, cause youd be on the doorstep!!
I want to move out there too - must start doing the lottery. =/

I am 100% with you on this...
It is a love for the parks, that wouldnt diminish, but yet whilst you might not go every week , it is there to do so when you want.
Nothing nicer than wandering around World Showcase... oh hum depressed now, anyone got a larger spare room so it could fit me as well ! :o)
