Do you often look back on holidays of many years past? I do not mean the recent ones of last summer, but the ones you spent as a kid with your folks?
I have great memories of my time spent in Florida with my Mum and Dad, travelling around different places, a few nights here and a few nights there. Even to this day I know to avoid Tarpon Springs like the plague!!
But my strongest memory is visiting WDW for the first tim in 1980 ion a three week holiday with my folks. We had a three day pass to the magic kingdom which you wore around your neck and I can remember riding Space Mountain which only secured you in with an air-plane type seat belt. I remember the recovery area afterwards adn think OMG this ride has a recovery area!! I then recall seeing the older teens (I was only 9 at the time) going on it time and time again borrowing others passes to ride it.
I then remember taking Debs for the first time in 1995, she was gobsmacked when she entered the Magic Kingdom and walked down main street. I still remember the smile on her face and the pride I felt that I knew she would love it there as much as me. So even now, even with 200 plus visits under our belts we always remember that walk down mainstreet and that we called the Magic Kingdom our "happy place". Still is, always is and I believe always will be and I am sure the kids feel (or I really hope they) the same.
