Adam,
I have a couple of question's about indirect flights.
What is the minimum gap you would leave between the first flight arriving and the second flight departing?
What normally happens if you miss your connecting flight?
Thanks
Danny

More question's!
What happens to your luggage? does it automaticaly get transferred to the connecting flight or do you need to collect it via the normlal way? Then do you need to check in as per normal or is their a different proceedure for anyone getting a conecting flight?

Hi Danny, Personally I wouldn't leave any less than around 2 and a half hours. Some flights might require you to change terminal or even walk across a terminal which could be time consuming. It also gives you some time to play with if you flight is late or delayed.
When we last flew a connecting flight we didn't see our bags until we arrived in Orlando. You have already checked in through your intial airport unless you are buying it as two seperate jouneys. If this is the case then you will need to collect luggage and re-check in. I would suggest only doing a 1 or 2 stop flight if you book it all in one go. Hope that helps |

Adam, Thanks for the advice. Looks like we will doing it DIY next year, we just have to decide whether to go for direct flights or try connecting flights. Going on what we priced up for this year I think that by going DIY we will save about £1000! and tht's if we were booking flights now for the Summer, I'm hoping that they will be even cheaper when they are first released. FLights are uslally cheaper when they are first released and go up in price as the date gets closer. I got my flight for August 09 in May 08 and saved about £300 a seat on the price they ended up.

Adam
As you know I have done Orlando many ways.
Happy to help with suggestions ideas etc.
For 2010 we are flying BA into Boston from LHR,
Overnight in Boston,
Jet Blue to Charlotte NC then car to Pigeon Forge for 5 days
Air Tran from Knoxville to Orlando for 11 days
Jet Blue to Boston
overnight in Boston
BA daytime flight back to LHR.
As I said I have done many other ways over the years since my first visit in 1983, including the 9 hour drive from Atlanta (on 3 occasions).
Happy to help with advice and tell about the different ways I ahve booked travel over the eyars and which I feel work for me.
